Chevron Thailand contract

RWG Administrator2016, News

Chevron Thailand has awarded RWG with a contract for the overhaul of two Siemens Industrial Avon gas generators for completion in 2016. This latest contract builds on a successful maintenance partnership between Chevron Thailand and RWG, extending the provision of specialist services to over 20 years.

All work relating to this contract will be undertaken at RWG’s service centre in Aberdeen, UK. The scope of work includes complete disassembly, detailed inspection, component repair and reassembly, followed by performance testing prior to return to customer. Both Industrial Avon engines have operated reliably in gas compression duty for over 30,000 hours since their last overhaul by RWG.

Chevron Thailand depends on their compressor packages to maintain production of natural gas from offshore facilities. The Industrial Avon gas generator lies at the heart of this system, so it’s essential to have confidence in the reliability of this equipment.

Mark Forsyth, RWG’s Industrial & Marines Business Director commented: “Chevron Thailand operates within a climate of low commodity prices and tough economic challenges facing the oil and gas exploration and production industry. Over many years RWG has developed an efficient and cost effective solution to meet Chevron Thailand’s financial and technical requirements, without compromise to equipment performance or integrity”.
