RWG Charity Committee – 2022 Donations

Yet again 2022 has been another very tough year for charities but the support of our RWG employees has again surpassed all expectations whether it be by monetary support or giving up time to volunteer help.

Employees are invited to apply for donations to charities and schemes where they are in some way involved.  This can be anything from taking part in sponsored walks or marathons, volunteering in local kids football clubs or just to give something back to a personally supportive charity.  As a result, 10 local charities received donations in December after receiving applications throughout 2022.

Over and above the donations from the Charity Committee, RWG employees have raised tens of thousands for their causes by taking part in numerous events including The Cateran Yomp 2022, 24 Hour Golf Challenge and various other running or walking events.

We held our first RWG Motor Show in April, which was promoted through RWG News and the winner of the show donated the proceeds to RNLI Peterhead where he is an active member of the crew.

Our Steptember challenge, teams of four competing to tally up the most steps during the month, also raised funding for local charities Mental Health Aberdeen & Hamish Dears Warm Hugs, Ehlers Danlos Support UK and Aberdeen Cyrenians.

11 of our employees tackled the Banchory Beast Race in September, a 10k obstacle course with lots of “fun” in the mud and water.  All helping raising money for Chest, Heart & Stroke Scotland.

2022 came to an end with employees supporting the Instant Neighbour Giving Tree appeal for the 6th consecutive year.  Cars were packed with gifts, selection boxes and food donations and passed on for local distribution.

Amazing achievements and generosity by each and everyone involved!!!!

2023 Applications are now open and we are hoping to receive another great response.
