About the role

An opportunity has arisen within the Production Department for an Assembly Technician. The successful candidate will be based in Houston (Beltway 8 and West Little York Road) and will report to the Assembly Lead/Production Manager. The Assembly Technician is responsible for the safe assembly of gas turbine engines using precision tools and equipment, ensuring compliance with engine workbook specifications and accurate documentation of requirements.

An overview of your day

  • Assemble gas turbine modules, engines, and power turbines - including static and dynamic balance of rotating assemblies.
  • Ensure adherence to engine workbook specifications and documents requirements.
  • Exhibit proficiency and expertise outlined in the Skills Matrix to proficiently complete turbine assembly tasks.
  • Utilize precision tools and equipment essential for project completion.
  • Adhere to company standards for cleaning, servicing, and organizing parts.
  • Utilize workbooks, documentation systems, and ERP systems proficiently.
  • Maintain a secure work environment in compliance with company safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Disposition parts for rework during the assembly process.
  • Maintain accuracy in receiving and shipping inventories.

What we need from you

  • One-year certificate from college or technical school required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in related field and/or commercial/military education, or on the job training that is similar to the mechanical functions used at RWG
  • Knowledge and experience with static and dynamic balancing preferred.
  • Basic math capabilities (multiplication, addition, subtraction and division of fractions and decimals) required

Salary

$55,535 - $67,876 (dependent on experience)

Paid Time Off

You will be entitled to a minimum of one hundred and thirty-six flexible hours paid time off (PTO) increases with tenure up to 256 hours.

Standard Holidays

RWG offers 11 paid Holidays annually.

Flexible Work Schedule

All regular full-time employees are eligible to participate in our flexible work schedule, which consists of five (5) workdays of eight (8) hours in one week and four (4) days of ten (10) hours in the second week for a total of eighty (80) hours during two (2) consecutive work weeks. The schedule allows every second Friday to be taken provided the agreed hours of work are fulfilled.
